Effective communication plays a critical role in student success, belonging, and engagement. Whether responding to routine questions, navigating student concerns, or communicating during challenging circumstances, faculty can foster positive learning environments through approaches that are both clear and compassionate.
In this interactive workshop, participants will explore practical strategies for communicating with students in ways that promote understanding, trust, and accountability. Through discussion, case examples, and guided reflection, faculty will examine common communication challenges and consider approaches that balance empathy with academic expectations.
Participants will leave with concrete techniques, communication frameworks, and ideas for enhancing interactions with students across a variety of teaching contexts.
