Cultivating Critical Thinking in the Digital Age
Thursday, September 25, 2025 :: 11:00-12:00 PM
Park Library | 413
Intended Audience: CMU Faculty
Facilitated by: Gabrielle Likavec
In an era of algorithms, instant answers, and AI-generated content, helping students build authentic critical thinking skills has never been more essential or complex. This session explores practical strategies for fostering curiosity, analysis, and thoughtful engagement across disciplines. Together, we’ll examine how to design assignments, discussions, and classroom experiences that go beyond surface-level thinking and encourage students to question, evaluate, and connect ideas meaningfully. Participants will leave with concrete techniques and a renewed purpose for teaching in a tech-saturated world.
This workshop was developed in response to feedback received through the 2025 Faculty Needs Survey.
