Learn New Tools for Conflict Resolution: Interactive Professional Development Workshop for Graduate Students
Friday, January 31, 2025 :: 2:00-5:00 PM
Virtual | Other
Audience: Graduate Students
Have you ever struggled with how to respond to offensive comments or other incidents of bias in professional settings? Should you have let the moment pass? Is there something you could have done or said?
These scenarios happen every day in classrooms and workplaces across the globe. In this unique, professional development opportunity, graduate students will build transferable skills in conflict resolution and social awareness and change, skills employers actively seek.
The professional theatre company PowerPlay and Dr. Stephanie Goodwin from Incluxion Works, Inc. will lead participants in a Zoom-based event that is accessible to graduate students in on-campus and on-line programs. This training model offers a low-risk, high-reward opportunity for challenging conversations.
Please note this is an interactive seminar and not a webinar, so we ask participants to have their cameras turned on to fully benefit from the event.
This workshop is sponsored by
• CMU Office of Institutional Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
• CMU Office of Graduate Studies,
with additional sponsorship by the Colleges of: Arts and Media, Business, Education and Health Services,
Medicine, Science and Engineering, and the Herbert H. and Grace A. Dow College of Health Professions, and support from the CMU Advance Program.
