Burnout and Well-Being for Staff: Having the Hard Discussions (Engage and Elevate Series)

Friday, October 18, 2024 :: 12:00-1:00 PM

Bovee UC | 123 Mackinaw

Audience: Staff

Staff careers can be long, full of possibilities but also stress and challenge. In this workshop, we will discuss burnout as a culture problem in higher education that impacts individuals, especially women and underrepresented minorities, and examine strategies for building connection, boundaries, and balance.

Led by Dr. Rebecca Pope-Ruark, Director of the Office of Faculty Professional Development at Georgia Institute of Technology and author of Unraveling Faculty Burnout: Pathways to Reckoning and Renewal, this session offers actionable insights to help create a more supportive and resilient academic environment.

This is a brown bag session where we invite you to bring your lunch. Drinks and cookies will be provided.

This workshop is sponsored by CMU’s NSF ADVANCE project. For more information, please contact Zachary Evans at evans1zr@cmich.edu.

Registration closes on 10/17/24 @ 3 p.m.
