Revisiting the AI Journey: Bringing AI to the Classroom

Thursday, February 15, 2024 :: 12:30-1:30 PM

Park Library | 413

Intended Audience: CMU Faculty

Facilitated by: Gabi Likavec

As AI-generated content becomes increasingly prevalent, it is crucial to develop critical thinking skills to assess and supplement AI outputs. Through hands-on activities and group discussions, we will examine strategies to foster metacognitive awareness in students and empower them to be discerning consumers and contributors of AI-generated materials. Join us to discover how metacognition and critical thinking can be used to prepare students to navigate the world of generative AI.

Delve into generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) and its implications for higher education through our tailored workshop series facilitated by Teaching and Learning Consultant, Gabrielle Likavec. This Hyflex series revisits topics covered last semester in the Navigating the AI Frontier workshops and takes a deeper dive into topics of interest expressed by our participants. Sessions will provide practical insights and strategies to understand and effectively implement AI in the higher education classroom.

NOTE: This session will be offered in a HyFlex format, which will allow registrants to attend either Face to Face in Park 413 or via WebEx using the link included below.
