Intended Audience: CMU Faculty & Staff

Facilitated by Sarah Learman

(Session 5 of 5)

The Office of Curriculum and Instructional Support is excited to offer the last installment, Adjusting and Achieving with Emerging Teaching Methods. This relevant series provides CMU instructors with opportunities for individualized reflection and guided instruction toward engaging current and future students in HyFlex, remote, and face-to-face learning environments.

Toward an informed, intentional approach to closing out this semester and planning for the next, this session will examine the sustainability of our instructional practices and expectations for both ourselves and our students. Knowledge gained from this session will support instructors through the difficult tasks of actualizing the varied needs of our students and ourselves, and appropriately meeting those needs. As we merge the perceived “student-centered” and “instructor-centered” educational constructs into a fruitful, supportive, “learning-centered” classroom, we will investigate the inherent value that accompanies collaborative consideration of our instructional practices, our experiences, and those of our students. Finally, this session will guide instructors, applying evidence-based resources, to build more accessible and inclusive learning environments that will support students during and beyond their time with us.
