Tuesday, October 6, 2020 :: 11:00-12:00 PM

Intended Audience: CMU Faculty & Staff

Facilitated by Sarah Learman

(Session 4 of 5)

This reflective, interactive, and instructive session will introduce and build on established engagement techniques for students in diverse learning environments. We will incorporate our own recent student-interaction and classroom management experiences, sharing our successes and discovering practical solutions for areas of concern. Through this, we will illustrate some of the many different ways that instructors can build and maintain rapport with students in various learning environments- simultaneously. Taking this a step further, we will discuss the value of candor and boundaries, what it means to bring our authentic “selves” to the classroom, and the dynamic, immediate, impact that a shift in these practices can have in our classrooms.
