At some point in our profession, we will have a difficult conversation with a student, from controversial topics related to the concepts you’re teaching, or more targeted behavioral concerns (e.g., cheating, bullying). In this session, we will discuss techniques to create safe space around difficult topics, practicing empathy, and methods to help students be active participants in difficult dialogues.
