Open Classroom: BIO 572 - Epigenetics
Wednesday, February 12, 2020 :: 3:30-4:45 PM
Biosciences Building |
Intended Audience: CMU Faculty
Facilitated by Steve Gorsich
BIO 572 - Epigenetics with Steve Gorsich will be open to visitors wishing to enjoy an award-winning colleague in action. Sitting in on classes taught by peers can be an informative and beneficial experience for our own practice as educators. Check out this and other Open Classroom sessions! Each semester a variety of ‘open classrooms’ will be available to allow CMU educators to observe a range of contemporary pedagogical practices across disciplines, environments, and formats.
This Is: A “silent” visit to a class facilitated by a faculty “host” who has agreed to participate.
This Is Not: A critique or evaluation. Visitors will not offer feedback to the host on teaching. Instead, it is self-referential, helping visitors consider opportunities that may exist within their own teaching practice.
Located in Bioscience room #1015 - Participants will observe the teaching of one CMU educator, reflecting on the experience through a four-question survey.
