In this interactive session, we will explore the nature of critical thinking, the stages of intellectual development our students typically exhibit, the connection between the two, and the best ways to support our students’ development within the context of the classes we teach. This session will explore assignments, including grading/evaluating activities, establishing multiple solutions to problems, analyzing sources, developing sound arguments.
About the series: Regardless of subject matter, life skills can be infused into any undergraduate course, and The Office of Curriculum and Instructional Support wants to show you how! This 3-part series, inspired by Bill Coplin’s (2019) The Happy Professor: How to Teach Undergraduates and Feel Good About It, focuses on our diverse role as educators, andragogical approaches to engaging with Generation Z, and classroom organization that prepares students for careers and citizenship while serving to support their success with course content.
