Open Class - HSC 633 - Neuromuscular Physiology of Exercise

Friday, October 11, 2019 :: 9:00-11:45 AM

Intended Audience: CMU Faculty

Facilitated by Roop Jayaraman & Jeremy Bond

This open class is HSC 633: Neuromuscular Physiology of Exercise with Dr. Roop Jayaraman. Visitors to this session may observe graduate learners engaged in a guided inquiry approach to the study of human movement and the neuromuscular system. Because this is a longer session than most open classes, visitors will have the option to stay for the entire event or to depart during a mid-session break.

Would you like to see other educators teach? Check out this and other Open Class Concept sessions! We hope to help open a variety of classes each semester to allow CMU educators to observe a range of contemporary pedagogical practices across disciplines, environments, and formats or modalities. This Is: A “silent” visit to a class facilitated by a faculty “host” who has agreed to participate. You’ll also receive an optional invitation to attend a later breakfast with all Open Class Concept hosts and visitors to ask questions, discuss teaching, network, and lend feedback on the pilot.

This Is Not: A critique or evaluation. Visitors will not offer feedback to the host on teaching. Instead, it is self-referential, helping visitors consider opportunities that may exist within their own teaching practice.

Objective: Participants will observe the teaching of one CMU educator, reflecting on the experience through a four-question survey.

The location of this event will be in HP 2261
