Unfortunately, cheating and plagiarism are part of educational culture. Often, educators are unsure of how to report incidents and address offenses with students. Objective: • Demonstrate strategies to discourage cheating and plagiarism • Analyze CMU’s policy on academic integrity • Utilize methods for having difficult conversations with students concerning academic integrity (without losing classroom momentum and community) • Explore resources available to support students struggling with intentional and unintentional academic integrity • Reflect on classroom habits that foster a “cheat-free” zone
